How it works

Free strong password generator. Build a password with crypto.getRandomValues, choose the length and character sets, skip ambiguous characters, or make a passphrase. The strength meter shows the entropy in bits.

  1. 01

Set the length and the character sets

Turn lowercase, uppercase, digits, and symbols on or off. Ambiguous characters such as 0, O, 1, and l can be left out.

  2. 02

    Read the entropy

The meter is the length times the log of the alphabet size. Add length or another set when you want more bits.

  3. 03

    Or switch to a passphrase

Pick how many words, a separator, and whether to add a digit. Copy one or a short list.
